Philip Cooksey, PhD has a doctorate in Robotics from Carnegie Mellon University and a B.S. in Computer Science from California State University, Monterey Bay with a minor in Mathematics. His work spans autonomous underwater vehicles, water surface vehicles, and Small-Size League robot soccer. Currently, he is engaged in the VIPER project at NASA Ames, specifically on using on-board sensors to estimate the rover’s position and orientation during its mission on the south pole of the moon.
